A certified fire investigator with nearly 21 years in the fire service and the last 10 of those years as part of law enforcement conducting fire investigations in both the public and private sector. Retiring from the fire service in 2002, he started IRIS Fire Investigations, Inc. and now assists private industry and the legal community conducting origin and cause investigations in Colorado and other States in the western U.S.

Sought after for his lectures and presentations on fire investigations, NFPA 921, interviewing, internet technology, report writing and digital photography training. He has presented various topics to public agencies and private enterprise across the United States, in Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Botswana, and South Africa.

Presently, in addition to operating IRIS Fire Investigations, Inc., he is a Director of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), Past President of the Colorado Chapter of the (IAAI), and regular contributor to the Fire and Arson Investigator Magazine with his "Seen on Scene" articles.
